Made of 1/4" thick steel, these heavy duty post brackets are used for designs where extra stability and anchoring are necessary, such as:
- designs where middle posts are eliminated, creating longer spans, leaving greater stress on the remaining posts
- seismic areas
- high wind areas
These heavy duty post brackets are available in three sizes:
- for 6x6 nominal wood posts with a 5" x 5" actual width, the bracket has a pocket of 5" square and a base plate of 8 1/2" square
- for wood posts with a true 6" x 6" actual width, the bracket has a pocket of 6" square and a base plate of 9" square
- for 8x8 nominal wood posts with a 7" x 7" actual width, the bracket has a pocket of 7" square and a base plate of 12" square
Each post bracket weighs ~18 lbs.
Price includes four wedge bolts per brackets.
Price includes trim that matches your structure to surround the brackets and hide them from view.
