Position: Design Consultant

No experience in our field is needed for this position. We will train you. You will be paid while you train. Within 6-12 months you will become an expert in the field.

Responsibilities:

• Educate and advise inquiring homeowners and tradespeople about 1) the features and benefits of our products and available options, 2) the advantages and disadvantages of different materials and models, and 3) how our kits are assembled, how they ship, lead times, care, and maintenance
• Field inbound phone calls and emails from homeowners and tradespeople who would like more information on our products or who need help in arriving at a buying decision
• Issue quotes to customers using our easy “point-and-click” digital quote tool
• Process orders from customers
• Use our point-and-click tool to generate standard sketches (no experience necessary)
• On occasion, coordinate with engineers if engineered drawings are required by the customer
• Be the point person for customers until their structure is delivered and assembled
• Become familiar with our FAQ’s, visual tools, documents, and digital tools to help customers learn and decide
• Your day will consist of responding to questions from customers and potential customers on the phone, advising them, reading, and responding to their emails, working with our proprietary tools, sharing information and visual aids

Requirements:

• Natural ability to communicate efficiently and courteously
• Enjoy talking with homeowners and helping them design their outdoor space
• Comfortable with numbers; use basic math with ease (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)
• Comfortable working with dimensions (feet and inches)
• Enjoy details and exactness. Be attentive to written and spoken dimensions and specs
• Solid command of English in spoken and written form
• Typing speed of 45 word per minute or greater
• Drug free. You will be required to pass a drug screening prior to employment and a random screening every so often
• High school diploma
• Background check is required

You will need to have basic familiarity with:

• Microsoft Excel
• Microsoft Word
• Standard business email etiquette
• Basic computer skills

Other details:

• Start date October 31, 2020
• Trial 45-day period leading to permanent position
• Full-time remote position 37.5 hours per week
• Mon-Fri 9:00am – 5:00pm with flexibility for family obligations
• Twenty paid vacation days per year plus nine holidays

About Pergola Kits USA Inc.:
Pergola Kits USA Inc. is a small company engaged in the design and sale of prefabricated pavilions and pergolas, having its principal offices in Levittown, NY.

We design and ship ready-to-assemble pergola and pavilion kits nationwide. Our structures range in size from 100 – 3,000 sq. ft. and are made of top-grade wood or structural fiberglass. We sell primarily to homeowners, and a lesser extent to tradespeople (contractors, designers, etc.).

Customers buy our structures to provide protection from sun and rain, to create a gathering space for friends and family, or to create a centerpiece for their outdoor space. We do not have showrooms, but instead generate all our orders through digital marketing. Founded eight years ago, we have grown steadily each year since inception.
